The ZTZ-99A tank, dubbed China's land battle champion, made its debut at the Tian'anmen Square military parade in Beijing on September 3, 2015. However, it had already gained global attention during the 2014 Shanghai Cooperation Organization's 'Peace Mission' exercises, impressing with its agility, power, and speed. Its turret boasts advanced explosive reactive armor and compound armor, along with China's laser dazzler system for enhanced power. Standing slightly taller than the ZTZ-99 but shorter than NATO's 2.7-meter tank, it maintains a 0.45-meter ground clearance. The ZTZ-99A features both manual and automatic operating systems, enabling automatic gear shifting and continuous, even pivot, steering at any radius.
